MSP conferences provide an unparalleled opportunity for learning and development, networking, product discovery, and gaining insights and inspiration to take your MSP business to the next level. Attending a conference with your team can be a transformative experience and one that ultimately helps you elevate your customers' service experience.
There are dozens of conferences and events around the United States (and around the world) for professionals in the managed services space and people who work in IT in general. The best conference for your team will be one that helps you further develop your main area of expertise, fills in key knowledge gaps, or directly addresses one of your business's primary pain points.
The following MSP conferences are planned for late August onward. Most conferences feature keynotes, breakout sessions, workshops, vendor expos, and social activities, so go ready to learn, mingle, and talk with your favorite tech vendors. The team from Thread regularly attends a number of these conferences (marked where applicable), so if you go, be sure to come and visit our stand!

Conferences hosted by specific vendors are designed to serve IT professionals who use their solutions as well as IT professionals who don’t. Many of the focus topics (AI, cybersecurity, and business profitability) have universal applications. That said, vendor-specific conferences typically focus on the vendor’s solutions to the problems presented, so it’s preferable to attend a conference specific to the vendor your MSP uses if you can.
MSP conferences cover far more than specific software solutions and how to use them—they also cover topics with broad appeal such as business growth, emerging industry trends, and cyber threats and defense options. Conferences in general provide extensive networking opportunities for like-minded professionals. This is beneficial for anyone who works in the MSP industry, regardless of the software you use.
You can get the most out of an MSP conference by reading up on the speakers ahead of time, contacting people you would like to meet before you go, being intentional about networking, and carving out some time for yourself during the conference.
Francesca Gino, a professor at Harvard Business School, notes that people who focus on their professional aspirations network more and feel better about networking than those who see networking as a duty. Going to an MSP conference with the right mindset makes a huge difference.
There is no shortage of MSP conferences in the United States. Whether you are primarily interested in growing your business, safeguarding your customers’ assets, or improving your workflow with emerging technologies, you will easily find a conference that addresses that area—either in your home state or a nearby state.
Conferences are extremely valuable for the skills you and your team can learn and apply when you return home. However, the networking dimension of MSP conferences is also extremely powerful. Consider the MSP conferences that are available in your area, set aside a budget to invest, and go ready to make the most of the experience!
