Thread In Acquisition Talks with Spirit Halloween

Discussions underway to explore ways to a partnership between the world's greatest seasonal costume store and IT service desks for MSPs.

Houston, TX — In a move that industry insiders are calling “hauntingly on-brand,” Thread, the leading AI Service Desk platform for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and pirate-obsessed employees, today confirmed that it is engaged in early-stage acquisition talks with Spirit Halloween, the nation’s most recognizable seasonal costume brand.

“Thread has always been dedicated to redefining how service is delivered in the modern IT landscape,” said Mark Alayev, CEO of Thread. “Spirit Halloween brings deep expertise in rapid deployment, creative transformation, and making an unforgettable impact in a short window of time. There’s a spooky amount of synergy between our two organizations.”

If finalized, the partnership would mark an unprecedented intersection of enterprise service delivery and high-impact seasonal operations—potentially rebranding Thread as Spirit Service Desk™, the world’s first limited-time, costume-forward service experience platform for MSPs.

“This potential acquisition will provide the additional costume power that Thread really needs to supercharge development of the platform, said Alayev. "You'd be amazed how many pirate costumes, fog machines, and plastic gold treasure we've gone through to get where we are."

As discussions continue, conceptual prototypes of a new offering have emerged, including:

  • SPOOKY-LAs™: SLA commitments that expire promptly at midnight.

  • Ouija Board Chat™: A mystical (and asynchronous) support experience.

  • Seasonal Support: All services close for the season on November 1st.

To coincide with the announcement, Thread has launched a limited-time IT Costume Generator, inviting users to discover their alter egos—from Haunted Service Manager to Burnt-Out SysAdmin.

Every costume shared on social media will trigger a $10 donation to Y’alloween, a Texas-based nonprofit that provides free Halloween costumes to children in need.

“We believe in the magic of service experience and Halloween—and in ensuring that every kid who wants to dress like a pirate has that opportunity,” said Alayev. “If our platform can bring a little joy and a few laughs while supporting a great cause, that’s a win.”
